St. Louis Region’s Premiere Technology Conference Announces Alison Levine as Opening Keynote

Alison Levine -- who was captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition, climbed the highest peak on each continent, and skied to both the North and South Poles -- will discuss the Art of High-Impact Leadership as the opening keynote of the Gateway to Innovation (G2I) conference April 25, 2019 at America’s Center Convention Complex in downtown St. Louis.

Levine draws on her experiences as a history-making explorer to make a compelling case that the leadership principles which apply in the world of extreme adventure also apply to today's rigorously competitive business environments. And Levine argues that it’s everyone’s responsibility to lead—regardless of title, tenure, where you work, or what you do. Your survival—and the survival of your team—depend on it.

“Alison will be a terrific person to launch G2I 2019. She literally has top-of-the-world perspectives that apply to rapidly-evolving technology environments, too,” said 2019 Gateway to Innovation Conference Chair Jill Rausch of WWT Asynchrony Labs. “We know she will set the ideal tone for another exceptional conference this year.”

Levine has addressed audiences ranging from Fortune 500 companies to professional sports teams to the prestigious World Economic Forum at Davos. She is the author of the New York Times best-seller On the Edge: Leadership Lessons from Mount Everest and other Extreme Environments. Levine tackles the topics of creating cohesive teams, taking responsible risks and developing no-nonsense leaders that can succeed in times of uncertainty.

G2I features world-class keynote speakers and exceptional networking opportunities. Two additional keynotes will be announced soon. The conference also offers more than 30 breakout sessions focused on cutting-edge industry developments and best practices.

Proceeds from each G2I conference, the region’s largest for IT professionals and executives, are directed to individuals and organizations with technology-related needs in the St. Louis area. The conference has contributed $1,679,951 to more than 57 organizations, awarded 62 individual scholarships, endowed six scholarship funds, supported numerous STEM initiatives, and funded other technology needs for the region.
