The Wisconsin IT Symposium was created by EFM and IT leaders from the Milwaukee area. The primary mission of the Forum is to connect the senior IT leaders of organizations within Wisconsin, along with their respective senior managers, for the purpose of collaboration on common IT issues, objectives, and solutions.
The opening keynote, titled “Collabor8. Cre8. Innov8. Thinking Beyond What You’ve Always Done”, will be delivered by Gert Garman, owner of Broad Perspective, LLC and former Director of the Collaborative Design Center at Valencia College. In her keynote, participants learn how to get unstuck and keep things fresh to continually innovate by using the Creative Problem-Solving Process.
Holly Baumgart will be the lunch keynote speaker, she is the VP Information Technology at Sargento Foods Inc.; a leading manufacturer, packager and marketer of natural shredded, sliced and snack cheeses and cheese-based products in the U.S. Holly is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology at Sargento, including systems, organization and enterprise business technology planning. She is passionate about bringing this renown $1.3 billion privately-held company to the forefront of digital innovation.
The closing keynote is, VJ Smith, Speaker and Author of "The Richest Man In Town". His presentation is a remarkable and unforgettable story leaving audience members to evaluate how they can improve their personal and working relationships, setting higher standards on taking care of customers and giving deeper thought on what is truly important in life.
Along with the tremendous lineup of keynote speakers, this event will give attendees unlimited access to 16 peer driven breakout sessions, including interactive panel discussions.

"Artificial Intelligence - Risk or Opportunity?" According to a recent Bloomberg article, “Artificial intelligence is likely to be the most disruptive force in technology in the coming decade and companies that embrace AI may get a competitive edge while those that don’t risk extinction.” Join Brent Leland (Former CIO, Trek Bicycles) in this interactive panel discussion and find the answers to several questions many companies are starting to ask.
"Blockchain & Crypto - Reality vs. Hype" featuring local panelist Mark Unak (CTO, Scratch Digital), Sid Ramesh (CEO, Chainguru) and John Hillmer (Director, Friends of Lapham Peak). The panel will share some actual Blockchain use cases under development and some even in production. One thing is certain, Blockchain is heavily hyped, but will also be a game-changer in a lot of industries. Also learn about Blockchain networking opportunities in Madison and Milwaukee.
