Rhonda Winter
CIO
Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Rhonda’s discussion will focus on the importance of building a high performance team, finding the road map to drive that team’s day to day success and the delicate balance of when to push for acceleration to achieve optimum results. Teambuilding actually starts with establishing comfort for each individual team member in their own ‘4 square feet’ and pushing to pass results in winning only if the request is well placed in the journey and used with caution.

As a leader in a rapidly growing and changing organization, it is our responsibility to be mindful of our team members’ motivation and morale levels. Although some efforts may prove to be unsuccessful, it is this trial and error process that will aid you in finding out what truly motivates those around you. In my time as the CIO of Accretive Health, I’ve come to the following conclusion: the little things make a big difference! The sum total of all the little things you do for your employees – whether it be a Happy Birthday email or a newsletter article highlighting an individual’s success - have a big effect on staff motivation and morale. The best part about these small actions is that you can implement them almost immediately - don't leave these points behind, but rather bring them to your organization today!

IT Strategic Planning is one of the highest impact activities IT leaders can undertake;  it can also be one of the most challenging.  Effective IT strategic planning provides both direction and focus, allowing your IT functions to perform at extremely high levels. In this session participants will learn the three levels of strategic planning, including "Quantum Leap Strategic Planning", the steps of effective strategic planning, how to overcome the 4 IT strategic planning myths identified in CIO magazine, and most importantly, what strategic planning is not.   In our fast moving business environment the pace of change is ever accelerating, the direction of change seems to be a moving target, and the economic landscape seems to change weekly.  There has never been a time when "Quantum Leap Strategic Planning" was needed more.
