Mike Vance joined Steak n Shake in April 2003 as Director of Program Management. Vance was promoted to Vice President of Information Technology in October of 2005. Vance is responsible for all technology in Steak n Shake’s 425+ locations, as well as, division and corporate offices.

Before joining Steak n Shake, Vance worked for Arthur Andersen and Accenture for thirteen years. During this time, Vance was responsible for the IT Strategy and IT organizational change practice. In his current role, Vance is working collaboratively with the business to transform their technology to serve guests and associates better and to bring a more robust and stable infrastructure to bear.

Vance has worked closely with the business over the last several years to bring enabling technology solutions, structured process improvement and measurement, and strong project management leadership that drive true business value. The Steak n Shake IT organization has went through a dramatic change in resources and responsibilities and is now viewed as a strategic business partner in achieving the long term strategic objectives of the business.

Vance holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Ball State University, and an MS in Technology from Ball State University.
