Subhash (Sam) S. Valanju is Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Johnson Controls, Inc. and Johnson Controls Corporate Officer reporting to the office of the CEO. In his position, he oversees the activities of Johnson Controls’ Information Technology Organization on a Global basis.
Mr. Valanju joined Johnson Controls in 1996 from Rockwell International, where he served as Director, Information Systems for their Automotive Businesses. During his 10 year tenure with Rockwell Automotive, Mr. Valanju developed and executed Information Technology strategic plans on a global basis.
Prior to Rockwell International Mr. Valanju worked with Federal-Mogul Corporation. During his 18 year tenure, Mr. Valanju had many different responsibilities including Production Planning, Warehouse Facility Management, and Manufacturing / Distribution Information Systems.
Mr. Valanju received a BSME degree from the University of Bombay, India; an MSIE degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Detroit. He also has CPIM and CIRM certifications from the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
Mr. Valanju has been active in SIM International (Society for Information Management) at the Local Chapter and National levels in Board capacities. He also shares experiences with future IT leaders via the RLF Program (Regional Leadership Forum).
