Dr. Ron Thieme is Vice President and Chief Information Officer at AIT Laboratories. Consistently rated as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana, AIT was recently recognized for placing number 598 on Inc. magazine’s list of fastest-growing privately held companies. As a member of the executive team Ron is responsible for general leadership and management, overseeing the company’s information systems and processes, and engaging with the broader life sciences community.

Prior to AIT Dr. Thieme served as a business and technology consultant, advising firms in the life sciences, financial, and logistics sectors. His focus has been to ensure that company strategy, organizational structures, and technology drivers are aligned to create tangible business benefits. Ron’s clients included Purdue University, John Deere Credit, Zimmer, and Delta Air Lines. He worked with numerous executive teams to develop strategies, transform organizations, and create effective working relationships. Ron co-founded, managed, and ultimately sold Cambient, a successful business and IT consulting company. At Cambient he was responsible for leading and overseeing all areas of business creation and operation, including financial mechanisms, business development methods, hiring profiles and methods, technology skill sets, and adoption of new technologies. He motivated and led an on-going strategy planning process that resulted in a customer-centric value proposition for the company, defined organization roles and responsibilities, developed company mission and vision, and created a unique corporate culture.

Dr. Thieme received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University and is a graduate of the Society for Information Management’s Leadership Development Institute. He is a member of the Society for Information Management, and serves on the boards of Lutheran Child & Family Services and Community Hospitals of Indiana.
