UNLV

Dr. Lori Temple is currently the Vice Provost for Information Technology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a position she has held since 1998.

Over 95 full-time employees and 125 student employees in Dr. Temple’s office support UNLV’s help desks, computer facilities, network development and engineering, server administration, security, and enterprise applications, such as e-mail and online course management tools.

Temple has led UNLV through many successful change initiatives. In 2007, Temple restructured her unit in order to implement a new student information system at UNLV, a system that will serve as the model for several higher education institutions in Nevada. In 2008, as state funding decreased, Temple explored ways to maximize university resources, such as expanding distance education tools and improving communications about technology services.

In a previous life, she was an Associate Professor of Psychology at UNLV and did research on the effects of aging on driving ability. She came to UNLV in 1984 from Brown University where she earned a Ph.D. in experimental psychology.
