Terrance J. Brown was named Vice President, Information Systems in November 2005 with responsibility for leading information technology strategy and all General Mills’ information technology assets including application development, data management, technology infrastructure, data center operations, and telecommunication networks worldwide.
Brown joined General Mills in 1976 as a staff accountant and progressed through a series of finance and control positions throughout the company. In 1996 he was named Vice President, Corporate Development with responsibility for directing General Mills’ activities in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, and growth strategy development. From 1998 through 2001 Brown was Vice President, Financial Operations for General Mills’ Supply Chain Operations with accountability for all financial planning, control and information systems activities. In 2001 he was appointed Vice President, Global Internal Audit with responsibility for leading the worldwide audit function for General Mills.
Brown is a 1976 graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting, and earned a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) in 2004.
