For over 25 years George Spalding has been helping individuals on five continents realize their full potential by simplifying complex topics and inspiring people to acquire new skills. After his appointment to the faculty of Yale University in 1972, he spent several years as a consultant to the White House on technical presentations and White House Conferences. He has also coordinated a number of presentations for members of the President's cabinet, the Smithsonian Institution, and the FBI.
In addition to a 20-year commitment to improving the IT Service Management industry, George’s irreverent blend of quick wit and high-tech humor make him a much sought-after speaker. In 2005, he has hosted the 9 th Annual IT Service Management Conference in Orlando, the 3 rd Annual Service Desk Case Studies Symposium in Sydney, the 1 st Annual IT Service Management Conference in Mexico City, the ITIL Implementation Road Map in Wellington, the ITIL Cases Studies Symposium in San Francisco, and spoken on ITSM at the IT Infrastructure Management Conference in Orlando, the HDI Conference and Expo in Las Vegas and the Help Desk Professionals Conference in San Diego. In 2004, he hosted or delivered presentations at the itSMF Canadian Annual Conference, Pink Elephant’s 8 th Annual IT Service Management Conference in Las Vegas and the 2 nd Annual Service Management Conference in Queensland, Australia, the 2 nd Annual IT Service Desk Case Studies Symposium in Sydney, the IT Service Management ITIL Best Practices Seminar in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, the Help Desk Institute’s (HDI) Annual Conference in Orlando, and the CeBIT-America Conference in New York City. In addition, he holds both the IT industry’s top security certification, (ISC) 2’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the top auditing certification, ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He was also awarded one of the first Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certificates also from ISACA.
Secretly, George leads a double life. He’s also a techie, a nerd, an ubër geek. In fact, he has trained more than 10,000 IT professionals on the inner mysteries of Microsoft Windows. In the not too distant past, he authored the highly technical Windows 2000 Administration. George’s past “geek” certifications include: Microsoft’s MCSE/MCT(NT/W2K/WXP); Cisco’s CCNP/CCDA; Novell’s CNE/CNI(NW3/4/5); and CompTIA’s CTT+/A+/Net+/i-Net+/Server+.
