John Soat has been writing about information technology for 25 years. He’s covered most of the major players in the software industry and many of the significant developments, such as Oracle's near collapse, the federal government's legal battles with Microsoft, and Computer Associates' accounting scandals. He’s been a writer and editor for InformationWeek magazine since 1989, in particular penning a weekly industry gossip column called IT Confidential. He was executive producer and news anchor of an online video program about the IT industry called The News Show. He now writes a blog and a weekly column called CIO's Uncensored.
