Dan Simpson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Physicians Mutual Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska. Dan also leads the company’s business transformation initiatives. Physicians Mutual Insurance Company and its wholly owned subsidiary, Physicians Life Insurance Company, provide supplemental individual health, accident and life insurance products, long-term care insurance, as well as a full-line of annuity products.

Dan joined Physicians Mutual in 2001, spending the first two years developing a new strategic information systems vision and designing a new services oriented architecture. Dan has since been responsible for influencing and implementing that vision and architecture through the Greenfield Program.

Dan is a proven leader with extensive experience in business and technology management, information systems and operations. He earned a B.S. degree from Kearney State College, an M.S. in Computer Education from Lesley College Graduate School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and an Executive M.B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Dan is a member of the Business and Technology Subcommittee for America’s Health Insurance Plans, is a member of numerous corporate committees, has served on several Information Technology associations, and is an active volunteer in his community.
