Forrester Research
As part of the Application Development & Infrastructure team,
Ted is a key contributor to Forrester's research on software infrastructure
and its impact on business strategy. He currently focuses on Web services
and service-oriented architecture, on open source software, and on the role
of Java and Microsoft in the enterprise. Ted also plays a leadership role
in Forrester's research into the software industry. He has appeared as a software
technology and industry expert on ABC and CNBC and has been quoted in journals
including The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and
Business Week.
Ted's previous experience at Forrester includes two years as the product manager and research group director for TechRankings™, Forrester's technology evaluation research. He has also led Forrester's technology research teams and been the champion and host for Forrester's Technology Leadership and Executive Strategy Forums. Prior to joining Forrester in April 1997, Ted was a cofounder of Phios Corp., an MIT spinoff. Before that, Ted worked for eight years as CTO and director of development for a software company serving the healthcare industry. Early in his career, Ted was front man and manager of a successful Maryland-based rock 'n' roll band.
Ted has a master's degree in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He also holds an M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland and
a B.A. in physics from Swarthmore College.
