Gene Rindels
Director of Information Technology
Charles Machine Works, Inc.


Since March of 2005 to the present Mr. Rindels is responsible for the Information Technology Division at the Charles Machine Work (ditch witch) in Perry, OK. The company specializes in the design and manufacture of trenchers, backhoes, horizontal directional drilling systems, vacuum excavation systems, and mini skid steers. Operations in Perry contain the company's 30-acre manufacturing plant and training, testing, research and product development facilities. The Ditch Witch employs more than 1000 people.

With over 30 years’ experience in the area of information systems management and strategic business leadership, Gene’s career has spanned many industries. A significant portion of that time has been within manufacturing companies with a focus on SAP ERP and CRM business systems strategically leveraging this technology for both internal and external customers.

As a result of his efforts, Gene is often sought for his IT knowledge and leadership and has been interviewed in various information technology publications to include CIO magazine, Network World and the Pittsburgh Business Times. Gene also enjoys volunteer work and has served as a board member at Duquesne University A.J. Palumbo School of Business, the regional board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Planning committee Oklahoma IT Symposium and is a member of the Information Systems Leadership of Oklahoma.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Rindels spent over 4 years at Carnegie Mellon University as part of the Computer Emergency Response Team, a world leading computer security organization, located at the Software Engineering Institute of CMU.

A retired serviceman, Gene spent 12 years on active duty in the Marine Corps where he was consistently promoted to positions of higher responsibility. He concluded his military career as an Executive Officer with the Communications Squadron, 171 Air Refueling Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He also held the position of Commanding officer for the 112th Communications Squadron and retired at the rank Captain in June of 2000 with a combined military career covering 20 years of service.
