Amber Merchant

Amber Merchant has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of fields including information technology management, marketing management, sales and communications. Her expertise is organizing people, processes and tools in multiple disciplines to achieve business goals.

She is currently Senior Vice President at Bank of Oklahoma in the Operations and Technology division. Upon joining BOK in 2004, she launched the bank’s Program Management Office, developing the selection criteria, reporting mechanisms and processes for company-wide IT project selection. She currently serves as the enterprise leader of the company’s Business Alignment strategic initiative, and has designed an approach that leverages the unique characteristics of the organization while incorporating proven business alignment model components. She also manages the IT Corporate Support Services group, overseeing the implementation and support of a variety of business application systems.

Merchant has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Tulsa and an MBA from Oklahoma State University. She began her career as a reporter for a major Tulsa daily newspaper covering police, fire and district court events and has worked in advertising, corporate communications, marketing, sales and information technology.

She is a member of the Association for Systems Management, the Tulsa chapter of the Project Management Institute and the Dallas-Ft. Worth chapter of the International Human Resources Information Management Association.
