Ernie McKinley , CIO for University Medical Center Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, has over 25 years experience in the Information Technology industry. Prior to becoming CIO, Ernie was the UMC Director of IT for 8 years.

As CIO, Ernie is responsible for the strategic direction of all IT within UMC’s organization, as well as, IT alignment with Clark County.

Prior to UMC, Ernie worked as an independent IT Consultant for UMC for two years and from 1996 to 1998 Ernie provided consulting services to multiple healthcare and non-healthcare clients. Ernie was a Programming Manager at Computer Guidance Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona from 1989 through 1996 and a Programming Manager at Claydesta Communications in Midland, Texas from 1986 to 1989.
