Matthew Marsh

Matthew has worked in computer network architectures, security, and
management since 1983. In the early 1990s he founded Paktronix Systems LLC
as one of the early innovators in Linux and OpenSource research. Paktronix
created the first security enhanced Linux distribution, PakSecured Linux, and in
1998 PakSecured became the first commercial Linux ported to IBM Z-Series
mainframe.
As one of the most highly certified security professionals in the Midwest, in
1997 Matthew, joined by many exemplary members of the Omaha area security
profession, founded the NEbraskaCERT. Matthew spent the next decade as
Chief Scientist of this organization, guiding and assisting in expanding the
practical and theoretical aspects of Information Security. He co-founded the
original NE-IA Infragard Chapter, supported the implementation of an NSA
Center of Excellence, and tirelessly gave talks, speeches, and presentations
about the need for comprehensive Information Security integration into all facets
of Information Systems.
In 2006 Matthew embarked on a mission to enhance his own
understanding of the business impact of information systems and security
structures. He entered Creighton School of Law, graduated in May of 2009, and
holds a J.D. degree with a concentration in Business Law. He took the Iowa Bar
in February of 2010 and plans to join the Patent Bar in the summer of 2010.
Matthew is published in many fields, including information security,
bioengineering, and advanced network structure. He has given countless
presentations for various conferences and individual groups. He currently holds
all three major security certifications, NSA, CISA, and CISSP, along with several
varied technical and scientific certifications.
