As the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer for Alegent Health, Mr. Lawonn manages all information technology functions, as well as operational responsibilities in hospital support services. Mr. Lawonn also oversees the organization's Quality and Patient Safety initiatives. Prior to joining Alegent Health in 2001, he served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Banner Health System in Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. Lawonn began his career in healthcare in 1976 and has worked in IT Management for over 20 years and at a Chief Information Officer level for the past 13 years. Mr. Lawonn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Services from Moorhead State University and recently received the 2008 Innovator Award from Health Informatics Magazine.
