Technology Lead
Simon Kissler recently joined IHETS after over 15 years working in Higher Education IT and independent consulting. As Technology Lead he manages and oversees IHETS’ technical services portfolio and infrastructure including datacenter services, business continuity and disaster recovery, security, and virtualization offerings.
Prior to joining the IHETS team, Simon served as Director of Emerging Technologies at Valparaiso University. He helped in investigating and developing cutting edge technologies for the benefit of the university’s mission. Together with his team, he worked with commercial technologies as well as with and contribute to open source and other community projects. Leveraging his many years of experience with the implementation and management of complex network and server infrastructure he focuses on developing and shaping technology solutions that marry advanced concepts with real world constraints and complexities. In addition to his technical roles he served in various leadership roles including serving as a chair to one of the university’s most successful capital campaigns.
Simon speaks and writes frequently on advanced and emerging technologies as well as innovative uses of technology.
