Kent Barth is the CIO at the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) for the State of Indiana. FSSA is a 7 billion dollar entity housing about 4000 employees focused mainly on the well being of Indiana residents in the healthcare benefits arena. FSSA Technology Services is responsible for providing IT vision and strategic leadership to deliver services to the public. The Indiana Health Informatics Corporation (IHIC) is a public-private corporation created by the State of Indiana to guide and promote health information exchange (HIE) in our state. As Chairman of the Board Kent is responsible for coordinating efforts to promote the states collective assets and national leadership in health information technology as Indiana positions itself for funding opportunities which are available as part of the federal economic stimulus package.
Prior to joining FSSA Kent established and grew the EBusiness presence at a global Tier 1 automotive supplier with 32,000 employees in 27 countries where he held global responsibility for EBusiness, Human Resources and financial applications. Under his leadership the organization was inducted into the
ComputerWorld Honors Program for Business-to-Business innovations, named one of the Top 25 Innovators in Collaboration by
Information Week Magazine and ranked 117th in the Top 500 EBusiness Innovators compiled by
eWeek magazine.
