Richard Gordon
CTO
SEC
Richard Gordon is currently the Deputy CIO and Chief Technology Officer for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Since his arrival he has lead the collaborative effort to reposition IT to encourage change from within itself. His efforts have lead to the completion of ITIL training of nearly all government central IT staff– most receiving their foundation certification upon completion of the course. He has worked closely with IT and other SEC executives by preparing the way for what will be a multi-year transformation of SEC IT into an ITIL-based service organization.
Prior to his arrival at SEC, Richard spent a brief stint as a Senior Manager at Bearing Point, and as Vice President for Information Technology at Standard Technology of Alexandria, VA. Richard held the Chief Information Officer of the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Technology in Bethesda, MD. Prior to his retirement from the US Army Medical Service Corps, Richard served as Chief Information Officer of the Walter Reed Army Health Care System in Washington, DC, in addition to a host of other senior IT positions.
