Christopher D. Germann is a program director in Gartner Executive Programs, and is based in Austin, Texas. He works primarily in Gartner’s EXP program with CIO’s of large multinational organizations. Mr. Germann was formerly a Gartner research analyst from 1994 to 1999, and is applying his Gartner and industry experience in delivering the benefits of Gartner’s EXP program to CIO members.
In 18 years in the IT industry, Mr. Germann has had many varied experiences. Most recently, Mr. Germann was a senior strategist at SageCircle, where he was an expert consultant for major technology vendors on the IT analyst industry. Before that, Mr. Germann worked as vice president of corporate strategy for MainControl Inc., an enterprise IT asset management software vendor (McLean, Virginia). During his first tenure at Gartner, Mr. Germann developed much of the IT asset management technology research, as well as contributing to software license management and IT service provider topics. Before his tenure as a Gartner analyst, Mr. Germann was a project manager for software licensing technologies at Novell and a chief technical editor at an industry magazine, in addition to working in sales and marketing for a search-engine startup.
Mr. Germann graduated with a B.S. in computer science from Brigham Young University with a double major in international relations. He speaks fluent Spanish.
