Laura is the Chief Information Officer for Clark County, Nevada. Clark County is the 15 th largest county in the nation, with over 2 million residents and more than 38 million tourists annually. It is home to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, heart of the Entertainment Capital of the World and site of 14 of the nation's 15 largest hotels. Laura has the pleasure of serving the technology needs to over 40 diverse local government departments and agencies including those focused on health and human services, justice and public safety, development and environmental management, and internal solutions. Since joining Clark County, Laura has been elected by TBAN (Technology Business Alliance of Nevada) as the TechNevada 2008 Technology CIO of the Year.

Prior to joining Clark County, Laura worked for 11 years at MGM MIRAGE, one of the world's leading and most respected development companies with significant holdings in gaming, hospitality and entertainment. Laura held a variety of roles at MGM MIRAGE, including VP and Chief Technology Officer, and was responsible for infrastructure strategy and design at MGM MIRAGE as well as security and compliance. She led various engineering efforts for two property openings, and assisted with two large mergers and acquisitions. She also acted as the VP of Technology for CityCenter, the largest private development in the country.

Among her achievements, Laura is most proud in participating in the launch of the Las Vegas chapter of WITI (Women in Technology International), whose mission is to empower women worldwide to achieve unimagined possibilities and transformations through technology, leadership and economic prosperity. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at Oregon State University. She is a native to Henderson, Nevada, is married with two wonderful children, and enjoys music, travel, and cooking.
