Brookdale is the leading provider of assisted living, independent living and memory care providers in the country. We have over 550 residences and over 30,000 people we take care of. I started with Alterra Health Care in 1999, and we became Brookdale Senior Living in 2006 merging with Brookdale Living. When I started with Alterra, I was a Sr. Network Engineer responsible for all Windows, Unix and SAN networks. I was promoted to Database manager in 2003 overseeing the database team and all Oracle and SQL environments. In 2006 I was promoted to Sr. Director of Infrastructure. I currently have 9 people working for the group. We have a datacenter in Nashville, Milwaukee, and Chicago which are staffed by my group. I am responsible for the operations of all 3 datacenters, and all the data replication between each datacenter. IN the last 3 years, I have been asked to do more with less much like many people in my position. We have successfully achieved our goals year over year.
