Dan Simpson, Physicians Mutual senior vice president and chief information officer, is a 25-year veteran of the IT industry. He is a proven leader with extensive experience in software development and consulting, business and technology alignment, information systems management, and operations. He joined Physicians Mutual in 2001 and leads the Enterprise Technology Group. Dan was the driving force behind the company’s business transformation strategy and the enabling Greenfield Program. Dan was a Vice President with Sterling Software prior to joining Physicians Mutual and held a variety of management and software engineering positions. Prior to the Computer Associate’s acquisition of Sterling Software, Dan was responsible for the P&L and division operations of the Applied Systems Division in McLean Virginia. Simpson earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a Master’s in computer education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
