Having learnt a lot during the process of building, architecting and managing systems, what business needs in order to "Run the Business"; However, the rules of competition have now changed (and permanently enough) at the business level to "Running the Business SMARTER to compete". This requires an entirely new way of thinking - it’s about "what can IT and Business working together, do with the information, to help be a SMART competitor in the marketplace" and this is what I think smart IT leadership should be all about.

Prior to Synovate Milind was Sr. Manager Enterprise Systems at Tribune Company – a publicly traded, fortune 500 media company and was responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the company’s technology/process transformation projects including architecting the standardization, centralization and virtualization (of business critical production application, systems and storage), engineering, development and operation of disaster recovery and business continuity. His other roles during his tenure with Tribune included Supervisor Production systems, Sr. Analyst media operations and System Administrator for large frame UNIX, Wintel platforms, networks and enterprise storage/backup environment.

Prior to Tribune Milind worked as a Systems Consultant to Encyclopedia Britannica to migrate the encyclopedic content into digital format and setting up the data mining capabilities.

Mr. Milind D. Dere worked for more the seven years in India in a variety of technology roles, including Entrepreneur at Hampton Computers Pvt. Ltd., Services Director at OMC Computers Ltd., Support Manager at Eiko Computers Pvt. Ltd. and Systems Engineer at Dytel Electronics.
