Cohen has 25 years of experience in the technology field. Prior to joining Security Benefit in 1997, he served as vice president and CIO at USA Administration Services in Overland Park, Kansas. He also spent 12 years in management and technical positions at Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Cohen is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He is a Fellow in the LOMA Life Management Institute and also received an ACS designation from LOMA. He is a member of the Topeka Technology Leadership Forum. Cohen also serves on the Board of Elders for Church of the Harvest in Olathe, Kansas.
He and his wife Julia make their home in Lenexa, Kansas. They have one grown and two teenage daughters, Tara, Natalie and Kelsey.
