Bobby
Cameron
Principal
Forrester Research
As a principal for The CIO Group, Bobby leads Forrester's research for and
service of the top IT executives in global $1 billion-plus corporations. For
more than four years, he has conducted research into developing IT best practices
for IT governance, measuring IT's impact on business, and aligning IT with business.
He writes reports, answers individual CIOs' business and technology inquiries,
and facilitates exchange meetings where CIOs discuss member-selected topics.
Much of Bobby's recent work focuses on the restructuring of technology management
-- including changes to organizations, decision-making processes, and sourcing
-- as business organizations take an increasingly strong role in managing IT
spend.
Prior to taking on this role, Bobby's research focused on technology leadership
-- the impact of technology on organizations, budgets, and roles. Bobby previously
led Forrester's research on IT services and enterprisewide applications that
can make or break a company's business performance -- like ERP, supply chain,
and customer management. Bobby has also led Forrester's research into the transformation
of IT governance, measuring IT's success, eBusiness organizations, business growth
through applications, harnessing computing chaos, and distributed information
infrastructures. He is also a recognized expert in many Internet/intranet technologies
and client/server software issues -- including packaged applications, databases,
middleware, application design, decision support, software development, and security.
Bobby holds an A.B. in economics from Harvard University and an M.S. in economics
from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
