Michael K. Bydalek

Mr. Bydalek helped establish the firm’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology practice group.  He is a business lawyer who focuses his practice on technology matters.  He has also represented public and private companies in fields as diverse as manufacturing, financial services, transportation and health care.

Mr. Bydalek counsels clients on protecting and exploiting intellectual property assets, including proprietary technology, trademark, copyright and trade secret identification and commercialization.  He currently represents clients in the preparation and negotiation of licensing, development, outsourcing, consulting and distribution agreements.  He also provides counseling on strategic alliances both with owners of complementary technology, OEM and VAR relationships.

In addition, Mr. Bydalek’s practice involves counseling clients in all aspects of venture capital financing and mergers and acquisitions.  He has represented emerging companies in multimillion-dollar private equity transactions.In the e-commerce field, he has represented Internet retailers, content aggregators and providers, business-to-business marketplaces, subscription-based online services, and software vendors in a wide range of matters.

On behalf of purchasers of technology, Mr. Bydalek has handled licensing and systems integration transactions, acquisitions of technology-based companies and intellectual property assets, and dispute resolution, including ICANN domain name disputes, on corporate governance and strategy formulation and corporate compliance program design and implementation.

He is a lecturer on technology and intellectual property law and actively works with corporate clients on education programs and corporate policy presentations.
