Arlyn Broekhuis joined Sanford Health in 1982 and has held various positions in Information Technology throughout the past 27 years.  He currently oversees an Information Technology department that employs over 240 FTE’s and manages a budget in excess of $ 30 M annually.  Arlyn has led the implementation of the EPIC electronic medical record system (named docZ) at Sanford Health over the past several years.  This implementation has been a significant investment of human and fiscal resources with an aggressive phased implementation plan.  Sanford Health has recently been named one of the nation’s most-wired hospitals (2008) by the Hospitals and Health Network Magazine and the American Hospital Association (AHA). Sanford Health was also included in the Information Week Business Technology Innovators list for 2007-2009.
