Tim Blevins

Tim Blevins is the Chief Information Officer for the Kansas Department of Revenue. Tim has been working in Kansas State Government for almost 30 years. Tim has been the CIO at the Kansas Department of Revenue for the last eight years. Prior to that, Tim was the Senior Information Resource Manager for the Kansas Human Services Agency (SRS) for five years. Tim started his public sector career with the Kansas Department of Transportation as a software developer and technology supervisor for fourteen years. Tim has been involved with electronic commerce and electronic taxation initiatives since joining KDOR and currently served as the State Co-Chair for the Federation of Tax Administration Motor Fuel Uniformity Electronic Commerce Committee for five years. He has served as the Chairman of the Executive Technology Committee for the Multi-State Tax Commission for years.

Tim is a member of one of five states supporting the IRS on electronic tax initiatives for Federal and State taxation programs working to modernize the electronic Corporate, Partnership, Fiduciary, and Income tax systems of the federal and state governments of the future. This initiative is known as the Electronic Tax Advisory Council. Tim works closely with the Board of Directors for the Information Network of Kansas. Tim has Co-Chaired the Information Technology Executive Council Technology Security Council for the last three years. Tim has been a member of the Kansas Information Technology Advisory Board, the ITAB Architecture Review Board, and the Governors GIS Policy Committee for the last ten years.

Tim is a Topeka Kansas native who attended Topeka High, Washburn University, and Kansas University. Tim's formal education is in Computer Information Systems. Tim and Margaret Blevins live in Mayetta, Ks. Tim and Margaret have four children Eric, Adam, Aaron, and Elizabeth Blevins.
