Michael Biagioli
IT Manager / CIO
Waukesha County

Michael Biagioli is the Chief Information Officer for Waukesha County, with over 39 years of experience. Under his leadership, technology has moved closer in alignment with the business needs of the county, with a focus on measured Return on Investment for the implementation of technology improvements. Mr. Biagioli has moved Information Technology away from custom in-house developed application, traditional for government IT, to an organization that functions as a system integrator for Off-the-Shelf software packages.  This has allowed for reduced development staff, while increasing data analysis, business analysis, and project management.

Waukesha County has also carefully implemented outsourced functions, where they make business and technical sense.  Most successful have been the outsourced help desk and outsource desk side support for PCs.

Information Technology, as an early adopter of Virtualization, has successfully virtualized over half of their server population, 80 percent of their storage, and 15 percent of their desktops.

Mr. Biagioli is also actively involved with the evolution of technology at the State level.  He is a charter member of the Technology Leadership Council for the State of Wisconsin.
