Kate Bass joined Valspar in August 2000 as the Vice President of Information Technology. In this role she has responsibility for global applications, technical operations, customer support and ebusiness initiatives. In November 2003 Kate assumed additional responsibilities as the General Manager for Guardsman, a business unit of Valspar. In 2004 Kate was appointed Corporate Vice President.

Kate began her career in 1977 with Honeywell, Inc. While at Honeywell she spent 21 years in various finance roles 3 years as the CIO Information Technology for the Home & Building Control business.

Kate received a BS in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University in 1977 and her EMBA from St. Thomas University.

Kate is married and has two sons. Her hobbies include golf, skiing and gardening.
