Kurt Althen is part of IT infrastructure Services responsible for systems in WellPoint’s western region, covering 5 states and over 15,000 users, strategically aligning technology with WellPoint’s Business capabilities as the largest US health insurance provider.
Prior to his current role, Althen was Vice President of Information Technology for Madison Ave. Capital, where he led a team responsible for all IT operations and application development for a New York based financial services company.  

Since joining the company in October 2003, Althen has focused on enterprise wide standardization and driving best practice opportunities where he frequently finds himself operating in the vendor/partner management areas.

Althen’s, experience on both sides of sourcing engagements has helped WellPoint meet the business needs of the company through strategic partnerships.
